The world needs transformative change to lead efforts for responding to the threat of climate change, according to Dr Rajendra Pachauri, Chairperson of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Dr Pachauri is scheduled to speak on 18 June at the launch in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the launch by the Climate Change Task Force of its Statement on the Action to Face the Urgent Realities of Climate Change.

Nobel Peace Prize winner and former Polish President Lech Walesa says countries and people around the world must work together to respond to global challenges like climate change, securing peace and environmental degradation.
Mr Walesa is also a strong supporter of Green Cross, which is participating in the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) in Brazil during June 2012.
