World Bank announces new Global Partnership for the Oceans

More than 80 governments, organisations and private companies have signed up for a new Global Partnership for the Oceans at the Rio+20 Earth Summit. The World Bank initiative focuses on reducing pollution, protecting habitat and sustainable fishing.

Oceansinc@Rio is dedicated to broadcasting news about the ocean at the Rio+20 Sustainable Development Summit.  It will closely follow the discussions, negotiations and events related to the ocean from the commencement of the dialogues on June 16th to the completion of the summit on June 22nd.
